Participate in our award-winning programs and celebrate the Northern Neck's vibrant community life with hands-on history programs, concerts, festivals, and special events. Here at one of Virginia's most important historic sites you can experience the breadth and depth of the eighteenth-century American story.

A visit to Historic Christ Church & Museum will add memorable moments to your road trip, provide educational opportunities for a family vacation, and give you the chance to discover a hidden jewel: our interactive museum and gift shop.

Programs include a Sunday Speaker Series, bus trips to historic sites, traveling exhibitions, living history presentations, concerts and more. An integral part of the community, Historic Christ Church & Museum regularly offers family-friendly events including the Scottish celebration Kirking of the Tartan, a stirring Memorial Day service, a Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence and a winter holiday carol sing. The ever-popular Craft Beer Fest draws crowds to sample craft beers, local wines, BBQ, and homemade ice cream to the accompaniment of sensational live music.

Kids love our three-day Hands-On History Camp, where they can make bricks, dig for artifacts, make colonial candles and silhouette portraits, write with quill pens, make grave rubbings, play colonial games and more!. August brings our annual Ice Cream Social, where kids and their families enjoy hands-on history activities and some tasty ice cream treats.

With education as the cornerstone of our mission, school programs are available to students at all levels, from K–12 to collegiate. There is truly something for everyone at Historic Christ Church & Museum.
