About Eight a Clock this morning I recd the Enclo'd
Letter to Capt: Pearse
which I think most proper forthwith to Expedite
dispatch
to you by Express beleiveing it will be in your Power to give it the quick
est dispatch to him that you may know the Contents of it I send you the
Copy of a Letter that it came to me Enclosed in what measures you
will please to take with his Majestys Ship under yor Command to
answer our Govrs:

Robert Carter generally used a return address of "Rappahannock" for the river on which he lived rather than "Corotoman," the name of his home, on his correspondence, especially to persons from outside the colony. The county and colony have been added for clarity.
