Robert Carter writes to his son Charles Carter, who was then in England at school, July 5, 1723, giving him the choice of returning to the colony with his brother Robert if Robert has not already sailed or remaining another year. Mr. Dawkins has instructions to abide by Charles's decision.

     I received your Letters by the Carter you tell me
some fine Stories of yourself that you shall make a brave
fellow by that time the time is out I have allotted you to
Stay in England, I Expect this will find you at the -- --
Mathematick School where your Brother Robin has
been before you whom I ordered Mr. Dawkins to send
in last Year, I am now in Expectation of him every
Day, In the first good Ship to be sure he will come
