Letter from Robert Carter to John Purvis, May 22, 1701
Robert Carter informs British merchant John Purvis of the death of Ralph Wormeley, that he is one of the guardians of Wormeley's sons, and that Purvis may make a payment due him from Wormeley from Carter's account.

Robert Carter generally used a return address of "Rappahannock" for the river on which he lived rather than "Corotoman," the name of his home, on his correspondence.
