In a dramatic living history performance, Sheila Arnold Jones tells the story of Sarah, one of more than 500 enslaved people freed by Robert Carter III’s 1791 Deed of Emancipation. Experience Sarah’s hopes and joys in 1805 as she awaits her children’s freedom in the face of challenges to the historic deed.
