     William Dawkins, a London merchant, writes to Robert Carter, July26, 1718, that Carter's sons have arrived safely in the Thames River,and that he has sent someone to greet and escort them; he will makeevery effort to see that the boys are educated to Carter'ssatisfaction.

Rappa [hannock] River
Virginia


Sr

     This is to advise you of the Safe arrivall [sic]
of the CarterFrigt. Capt. Kent and thatyour sons
are very well = I have sent a person downe [sic]
the River to meet them & take care of them
& since you have Committed them to my Care
there shall be nothing wanting in me to see
them Educated to your satisfaction --
which is the necessary at Present from
